By far, the number one challenge I hear from trauma treatment professionals is trying to figure out how to remain healthy while helping their clients heal. There are a number of things to consider when thinking about your own self-care, and one of those is how you interact with your clients in their healing process. How do you hold space for them?
If this is your first time hearing about this idea of holding space or maybe you have heard it mentioned in the field and you are familiar with it, I want to help you evaluate how you hold space for your clients and if it is done in the safest and healthiest possible for you.
Maybe you have never considered that there are many great practices around this concept of helping a client heal from trauma. I hope to spark your curiosity in this week’s vlog and provide you with some concrete ways you can ensure that you are interacting with your client in the healthiest way for your client and yourself.
You are just as important as your desire to help your client heal. Check out this week’s vlog where I discuss the importance of safely holding space for your trauma clients.

Hi Nina, I received a link to your vlog entitled Feeling Stuck…Consider these 3 Things in Trauma Treatment but I can’t get it to open. I’d really like to listen to that one. Can you please send it to me again? I hope you and your family are keeping well in this uncertain time. Thanks for all the vlogs. They are so helpful and it’s a good time to catch up on them, although I have been really busy trying to order food from supermarkets that are quite restricted now. This is taking up a huge amount of time!
Thanks for letting me know that there is something not working with that link. I will send it to your email. Yes I am running into the same problem, it very time consuming. Take care and be well.
