By the nature of the work we do as trauma therapists we cannot be dismissive of our boundaries and the boundaries of our clients. Boundaries keep everyone safe, but there is a tendency to sometime have unhealthy boundaries if we are not mindful.
There are three types of boundaries and there can be a plethora of combinations to how these boundaries show up in the therapy room. The goal is for both the client and therapist to have healthy boundaries, so the working environment is most optimal for trauma healing.
In this week’s vlog, I show you simple way to provide psychoeducation on boundaries to your clients, I talk about the three different kinds of boundaries, and things you can do to help you become aware and heal your own boundaries as the therapist as well as help your client with developing healthier boundaries in their healing journey as the client.
