About Nina Keeler, LMFT

I believe each of us is born with an innate sense of aliveness and goodness—a vibrant core that, when fully expressed, allows us to live with presence, joy, and deep connection. But life’s challenges, particularly those shaped by trauma, can dim that inner spark, leaving us feeling disconnected from ourselves and others.

My Passion

As a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, my work is rooted in helping people reconnect with their bodies as a source of wisdom, safety, and vitality. I specialize in supporting people in their 30s and beyond who are ready to live a more embodied life—one where you feel at home in your own skin, deeply connected to those you love, and aligned with the life you want to live.

In our work together, we’ll explore the subtle language of the nervous system, gently unwinding patterns of survival that no longer serve you. Our healing journey will be about creating space for your body to remember what it already knows: how to move toward healing, connection, and wholeness.

Whether you’re navigating the impact of stress and trauma, longing for more fulfilling relationships, or seeking to reclaim parts of yourself that have been silenced, I offer a compassionate, culturally attuned, and body-centered approach to guide you back to your natural rhythm.

My Training

I earned my Master of Science degree from Kansas State University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. During graduate school, I fell in love with Play Therapy and completed certification through the KC Play Therapy Institute.

Early in my career, I served as a Social Services Case Manager, where I worked closely with children and families experiencing trauma and attachment challenges. This work inspired me to deepen my knowledge in trauma treatment and attachment-focused care. Over the years, my training has included:

  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Level One, with Dr. Dan Hughes

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children, The Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska

  • Somatic Experiencing®, my current primary focus and continuing area of study

Things That Give Me Life

I was born and raised in the country and carry a deep love for rural living. I find joy in tending a herb, vegetable and flower garden, cooking nutritious meals for my family, and savoring fresh seafood. Being active in nature nourishes me—whether that’s walking among trees, breathing fresh air, or simply slowing down to listen to the flow of a nearby creek.
